It’s important to gently exfoliate your skin while bathing to help damaged hairs work their way out and shed.  You should never pluck or wax treated hair though since you could disrupt the natural shedding process after laser hair removal.  Shaving is allowed between visits to help maintain smooth skin.

Once you reach your desired results after laser hair removal, treated hair is gone. However, occasionally, new hair growth occurs.  This is most common with women who experience hormonal fluctuations, such as those occuring during pregnancy.

Enlighten™ features extremely short and high-power picosecond laser pulses which efficiently and quickly treat a number of skin conditions including tattoo removal, brown spots and discoloration. A ‘picosecond’ is one-trillionth of a second, and is 1,000 times shorter than the ‘nanosecond’ pulses used in existing lasers for tattoo removal. Picosecond laser pulses have been shown to remove tattoos more completely and treat skin conditions in fewer treatment sessions than traditional lasers used in the past.

The total number of treatments may vary. Tattoo removal usually takes between 4 to 6 treatments depending on the composition, depth and the color of the ink, as well as the size of the tattoo. Tattoo ink is deposited deep in the skin. In order to reach all of the ink in the skin, multiple treatment sessions are needed for clearance. Skin rejuvenation and pigment correction usually takes 3 treatments. Basically, laser skin rejuvenation is done by projecting a laser light onto the skin blemishes treated. The energy delivered causes the problematic cells to break down into substances which can then be absorbed and discarded. The blemishes treated are mostly found on the skin’s surface, the “epidermis”, but the laser energy also heats up sub skin tissues (the “dermis”), this causes increased collagen production which does wonders towards improving overall skin complexion.

Patients compare the procedure to a rubber band being snapped against their skin. You can apply a numbing cream to the affected area before your treatment. Please note that the numbing cream needs to be applied 30 to 45 minutes before the treatment for best results.

Everyone responds a little differently, but change is progressive and as the ink is shattered into smaller and smaller pieces the body will absorb it. Some may notice a big change on the first treatment, while others will notice a big change on the second or third treatment.
